HBCUs are a building block of American history, born out of the necessity to provide equitable educational opportunities to African Americans after slavery (and through the present). HBCUs continue to create trailblazers who leave an international legacy for years to come. The Caf Brunch will help express the rich HBCU Experience through the food, music, fundraising and the undeniable and unduplicated force of HBCU Alumni.
One thing all HBCU Alumni remember is, (personal) style was a must on campus! Creativity remains a crucial facet of HBCU Culture, whether by telling a story through a detailed line jacket, a homecoming football jersey or an alma mater emblazoned t-shirt. The Caf will always provide a safe space to "rep your set" (whatever that looks like), and incite the nostalgia of a collegiate dress code.
HBCUs impart a laser focus on not only education and excellence, but also on service to one's community and to mankind at large. The Caf and its programming will always donate a portion of each event's proceeds to the Boston HBCU Alumni Network's "Legacy, Leadership, Leverage" General Scholarship Fund, or a fund specifically benefitting H
